Her future was in the cards...more specifically, in the kindergarten report card. Mrs. Reid wrote that Terri showed special interest in writing and art in all forms. So with a fistful of crayons that turned into colored pencils and then into gouache paints and digital art, Terri now illustrates for childrens books, magazines and educational materials.
In addition to illustrating childrens media, Terri divides her time as a part-time childrens librarian and the Illinois Illustrators Network coordinator for SCBWI. In 2010, she began a venture of facilitating traveling art workshops for kids, where she takes what shes learned in the studio and applies it to childrens art projects. She has presented Young Artists Workshops to library groups, art camps, and at senior centers.
In 2013, Terri will be the premier artist for the Illinois Library Associations iRead summer reading program for adults. Her art will be featured in all Illinois libraries, and in U.S.A. military base libraries in 24 countries.
Terri also writes poetry, short stories and has picture book manuscripts making the rounds. When not following her kindergarten teachers accolades, Terri will take her camera and hike in the woods, splash in the surf or skate on thin ice. She has recently become a certified dragonfly tracker.
Terri lives in the Chicago area with her husband and two sons, and a dog named Rosie.
